Couples Therapy in Maine

Online Couples Therapy in Maine for Communication, Intimacy, and Relationship Repair

Relationships can hold deep love, closeness, and meaning, but they can also become places where the same painful conversations keep repeating. You may feel disconnected, misunderstood, unsure how to talk about intimacy, or exhausted from trying to repair things on your own.

I offer online couples therapy in Maine for partners who want to improve communication, rebuild trust, and reconnect emotionally and physically.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, I support couples navigating relationship conflict, intimacy concerns, mismatched sex drives, betrayal or rupture, and patterns that leave one or both partners feeling alone.

Couples therapy is not about deciding who is right or wrong. It is a space to slow the conversation down, understand what is happening underneath the conflict, and begin creating new ways of reaching for each other.

 What We May Explore Together:

  • Communication patterns that keep turning into conflict
  • Emotional distance or disconnection
  • Differences in desire, intimacy, or sexual needs
  • Trust repair after betrayal or rupture
  • Neurodivergent relationship dynamics
  • Ethical non-monogamy, polyamory, kink, or BDSM dynamics

My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I help couples create more room for honesty, curiosity, and care, even when the conversation feels tender or difficult.

Is Couples Therapy Right for You?

You might be considering couples therapy if you:

  • Feel stuck in the same arguments or communication patterns

  • Experience emotional distance or disconnection

  • Have differences in desire or intimacy needs (mismatched sex drives)

  • Are working through betrayal or a rupture in trust

  • Feel unsure how to talk about difficult topics without things escalating

  • Want to strengthen your relationship before things get worse

What to Expect in Couples Therapy

Sessions are a space where both partners can feel heard and understood.

We slow conversations down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and work toward new ways of connecting.

Our work may include:

  • understanding emotional patterns

  • improving communication

  • exploring intimacy and desire

  • rebuilding trust

My Approach to Couples Therapy

My work is informed by approaches like PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which focus on understanding the deeper emotional and relational patterns that shape your connection.

Rather than staying at the surface of conflict, we explore what’s happening underneath—how you and your partner(s) respond to stress, disconnection, and vulnerability.

I also integrate nervous system regulation into our work, helping partners better understand how their bodies respond in moments of conflict or emotional overwhelm.

This allows us to:

  • slow down reactive patterns
  • create more safety in communication
  • build connection from a place of awareness rather than reactivity

This approach is especially helpful for couples who feel:

  • stuck in the same arguments
  • emotionally disconnected
  • overwhelmed during conflict
  • unsure how to repair after rupture
